REMINDER - MEDIA ACCREDITATION AND ACCOMMODATION: 2019 WORLD ATHLETICS COUNCIL MEETING AND WORLD ATHLETICS AWARDS
Dear media colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the 220th World Athletics Council Meeting (first under the new brand) and the 32nd edition of the World Athletics Awards have been scheduled to be held in Monaco from 22 to 23 November 2019.
The newly crowned world champions from Doha, and many other faces of our sport, are invited to join us for the annual celebration of some of the extraordinary achievements in athletics in 2019.
The Council Meeting will take place on 22-23 November and the World Athletics Awards will follow on the evening of Saturday 23 November.

Athletes’ press points and other media opportunities will commence on Friday 22 November (all day) and will continue Saturday 23 November (half day).
On the evening of the World Athletics Awards, a mixed zone area will be available in the Grimaldi Forum allowing accredited media the opportunity to interview the Athletes of the Year and other star athletes at the end of the live show.
Further details about the World Athletics Council Meeting and World Athletics Awards media opportunities and facilities will follow later this month.
Media accreditation process - registration is required
Written media, photographers and broadcasters wishing to attend the World Athletics Media Conference and the World Athletics Awards and to have access to media activities and the media centre (Sea Club Conference Centre, Mediterranee East) should make note of the following information:
Media accreditation is dependent upon pre-registration on a first-come-first-served basis and the provision of the following information when applying:
Applicant’s name (all individual names for TV crews, including technicians, must be provided)
Title/position (for each person registering)
Email address (for each person registering)
Mobile telephone number (for each person registering)
Name of media organisation being represented
Nationality
Either (a.) national press card number or (b.) AIPS press card number or (c.) PDF of a signed letter from their editor/producer accompanied by a scanned copy of the passport of the applicant.
All successful applicants must bring their identification documents with them when collecting their accreditation cards from the welcome desk at the media centre which will be located on the ground floor at the Sea Club, Mediterranee East. Opening hours will be provided in the confirmation letter.
Media accommodation
The official media hotel is the Novotel, 16 Princesse Charlotte, Monaco.
The discount bed & breakfast rate is 135 for a single room (breakfast included). More information on the accommodation reservation process will follow shortly.
Please provide us with your full travel details - dates & times of arrival/departure, flight numbers, airport terminals - if you wish to be picked up at the airport.
Free transfers are only available for media staying at the official media hotel.
